Low Fat Vegan No Oil Pasta Salad EASY & Delicious



How to Make a Low‐Fat Pasta Salad

When you think of a fat-free food, pasta is probably not the first thing that comes to mind. However, this article offers a delicious twist on the classic staple food, in which it is combined with salad. The result is not only low in fat, but also a vegan delight.

Ingredients

  • 1½ cups of bowtie/corkscrew pasta
  • 1 cup of broccoli (chopped)
  • 1½ ounce can of water-packed artichoke hearts (drained and chopped)
  • 1 purple onion (diced)
  • 1 red/yellow bell pepper (diced)
  • 1½ ounce can of green beans (drained and diced)
  • 2 medium-sized tomatoes (diced)
  • ¼ cup of black olives (sliced)
  • 2 tablespoons of fresh basil (chopped)
  • ¾ cup of fat-free vegan Italian salad dressing
  • Dash of salt and pepper

Steps

  1. Read the package directions on the pasta and cook accordingly.Use salt water instead of normal water.
  2. Stir the pasta while cooking.Be sure to check it two minutes before the cooking time on the box, or else it might become overcooked.
  3. Once the pasta is cooked to a springy and chewy texture, drain out the water.Allow it to cool.
  4. Lightly steam the chopped broccoli, until it is all tender.
  5. In a large bowl, toss together the pasta, broccoli, and all other remaining ingredients (besides the salad dressing and seasoning).
  6. Add a dash of salt and pepper (for taste).Cover the bowl with a lid, and keep on shaking the mixture until all of the seasoning has mixed in.
  7. Allow the salad to marinate in the refrigerator at least one hour before serving.Then toss it, and pour the salad dressing over it.
